Here's some steps to help rid you computer virus / spware / trojans / and adware.  The article is in two parts, a short version and a step-by-step detailed version.  As always, you can call us if you get stuck.

1. Download malwarebytes anti-malware
2. Install the software making sure to leave the "update" and "run" boxes checked at the end of installation
3. Run a quick scan.
4. Take a lunch break since the scans may take hours. While you wait, Consider leaving us a 5-star review on google
5. After the scan is finished, click "show results" then "remove selected"
6. It will make you restart your computer. Then you should be clean :)
7. It is recommended that you do a "Full Scan" after the computer restarts to remove any additional tidbits that might be still on your machhine

Now for the detailed step-by-step virus scanning instructions.  If you get stuck anywhere along the way don't hesitate to call us

1. Download malwarebytes anti-malware
   1. Click Downoad
   2. Download the file from whatever mirror you are sent to:
   3. Your browser may warn you that you are downloading a file:
   4. Tell it that this file is ok:
   5. Run the file after it downloads:
   6. You may get more warnings, but tell windows that you are sure that you want to run this file:
2. Now let's install the malware scanning software:
   1. Select your language:
   2. Click Next:
   3. Agree to the License:
   4. Click Next:
   5. Click Next:
   6. Click Next:
   7. Click Install:
   8. It usually installs pretty quick:
   9. Leave the boxes checked and click Finish:
   10. It will now update the Virus Definitions to catch the latest Trojans and Spyware:
   11. Click OK when it is done:
3. Now lets scan for Virus Infections leave quick scan checked and click Scan:
4. Take a break and let it do it's thing:
5. While you wait, why not consider leaving gone.south.computing a positive review on google local or yahoo local?
6. When it is done, then click OK:
7. Now click "Show results":
8. Click Remove selected:
9. Next you are shown a log file and asked to restart you computer. Click Yes to reboot the machine

DONE!

You should run a full scan to catch any additional bugs after the computer restarts.  Enjoy your clean computer :)
